This Award will be judged by The Charlies Panel, along with Michal Haines (Head of Fresh at Foodies) and two external and very passionate foodies who will be announced soon.

 

The top three finalists will receive an unannounced visit by a Fresh Specialist before we decide who takes out the top spot.

2. Customer Promise: Everyday Essentials

Can your customers always get their favourite brands at a fair price when they need them? Can they get something for every time of day? Or are there other Four Square stores that are killing it when it comes to their everyday essentials offering that you’d like to nominate?

3. Customer Promise: Local Service

Is your store a local legend around town? Do your customers love it because it’s easy to shop, they can get in ‘n out quickly plus they get great service from your personal and friendly team? Or do you know a legendary Four Square that you’d like to nominate?

This Award will be judged by our Charlies Panel, and the top three finalists will receive an unannounced visit by a Retail Specialist before we decide who takes out the top spot.

4. Rookie of the Year

Are you new to owning a Four Square but are already smashing it with awesome customer satisfaction, kick arse operational standards and great store growth? Then it could be you that gets crowned Rookie of the Year. There’s no need to enter a nomination for this award as all of our Rookies who have joined since 1 April 2020 are automatically in the running.

Nomination Requirements:
You don’t need to do anything to enter because we’ll crank the numbers in the background based on these three criteria, all weighted equally:
Your store is nailing year-on-year percentage growth that is over and above our previous store owner – 33% weighting

 

Your awesome customer satisfaction which will be measured by our new Net Promoter Score (NPS) tool – 33% weighting

 

Your team engagement survey score is at or above the Retail Australasian upper quartile – 33%

 

All our Rookies will receive an unannounced visit by a Retail Specialist before we decide who takes out the top spot.

5. Member of the Year

The success of the Foodstuffs North Island Co-op has been built by Members who do more than just run a great store. Member of the Year is about recognising our Four Square owners who give back to our Co-op, the Four Square brand, and their local communities. You can win this Award either by entering yourself or if someone else nominates you.

Nomination Requirements:
The Member of the Year is weighted equally across these two criteria:
a) Giving back to the Co-op and Four Square brand
b) Giving back to your community
Tell us how you/ this Member gives back to their community? For example, through community sponsorship.

 

Tell us how you/ this Member goes out their way to build a stronger Foodies Co-op and Four Square brand?  For example, helping with SAP training, being on the Four Square Owner Selection Panel etc.

 

Please provide one or two real life examples that show why you/this Member is a good Co-op citizen – including what customers would have to say about you/this Member.

 

This Award will be judged by our Charlies panel, and the top three finalists will receive an unannounced visit by a Retail Specialist before we decide who takes out the top spot.

6. Growth Store of the Year

Have you been going all out to get more customers through the door and drive higher sales? Are you smashing all your growth targets? Then you could be our Growth Store of the Year. There’s no need to enter a nomination for this award as all of our stores are automatically entered.

Nomination Requirements:
You don’t need to do anything to enter because we’ll crank the numbers in the background based on the criteria which is weighted as below:
Percentage year-on-year sales growth – 75%

 

Revenue year-on-year growth – 25%

7. Fresh Store of the Year

Do you have a Fresh offering in your store that would rival the world’s best? Do customers come to your store because they know they get all their fresh needs met. From croissants to die for, mince and cheese pies guaranteed to cure hangovers, the freshest produce or best cut of meat? Get your flash gears ready ’cause this Award could be yours. There’s no need to enter a nomination for this award as all of our stores are automatically entered.

Nomination Requirements:
You don’t need to do anything to enter because we’ll crank the numbers in the background based on this criteria across all your Fresh departments, which will be weighted equally as below:
Fresh sales year-on-year percentage growth – 33%

 

Fresh strike rate – 33%

 

Fresh share – 33%

 

 

This Award will be judged by our Charlies Panel and our specialist judge Michal Haines (Head of Fresh).

 

The top three finalists will receive an unannounced visit by a Fresh Specialist before we decide who takes out the top spot.

8. Employer of the Year

Do you have people knocking down your door because they want to work in your store? Are your team pumped and motivated to do their part to live the Four Square Customer Promises? Do you have great people processes that help your team members be their best?

The Employer of the Year Award will be judged on the below questions, along with your store engagement score and engagement survey participation.
Tell us how you help your team members to be their best. For example through things like training, wellness programme etc.

 

Demonstrate how you link your team members individual performance to their rewards and pay.

 

Please provide one or two real life examples that show why you should be crowned Employer of the Year.

 

As part of the judging panel’s decision on the winner for this Award we will also be looking at:
Your overall store engagement score and participation rate compared to the Retail Australasian upper quartile.

 

Your store engagement score on the question: “I understand how my team deliver on our Customer Driven strategy and Customer Promises.”

 

Your store engagement score on the question: “I see this organisation’s values being demonstrated every day.”

 

This Award will be judged by our Charlies panel, and our specialist expert judge Wendy Hammonds, Foodies GM People & Capability.

9. Support Centre Legend of the Year

Behind every legendary Four Square store is an awesome Support Centre Partner. Now is your chance to make sure your Support Centre Legend gets kudos for the part they play.

All nominations for Support Legend of the Year must come from a Four Square Member.
